Elias Diaz homered and finished with three hits, Ryan McMahon also went deep, and the Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-3 in Phoenix on Saturday night.
German Marquez tossed seven solid innings, Raimel Tapia had three hits and Trevor Story two for Colorado (26-33). Marquez (4-6) allowed three runs on five hits and struck out seven.
Jon Jay and Daulton Varsho had two hits apiece for Arizona (24-35).
The Diamondbacks went ahead in the first inning when Varsho led off with a double and Ketel Marte reached on an error. Christian Walker grounded into a forceout to drive in Varsho but Marquez escaped further damage.
Colorado broke through in the fourth inning after starter Luke Weaver retired the first two batters. Josh Fuentes doubled to left, scored on a single by Daniel Murphy and Diaz homered to put the Rockies ahead 3-1.
It was Diaz's second home run of the season.
Colorado tacked on a couple more runs in the fifth. Garrett Hampson led off with a double and came home on Tapia's single. Tapia went to second on a passed ball, moved to third on Kevin Pillar's flyout and scored on Charlie Blackmon's sacrifice fly to left to make it 5-1.
Weaver (1-9) left after allowing five runs -- four earned -- on seven hits and striking out six in five innings.
Arizona got one back in the bottom of the inning. With one out, Pavin Smith walked and Josh VanMeter reached on a fielder's choice. Jay singled to right but Pillar threw out Smith at home trying to score from second. VanMeter went to third on the throw and scored on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 5-2.
In the sixth the Rockies scored again when Diaz singled and McMahon homered to center off of reliever Silvino Bracho. The Diamondbacks responded with a run in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single by Eduardo Escobar.
Colorado added three in the ninth on Blackmon's RBI single, followed by Story's triple and a run-scoring groundout by Fuentes.
