Jonathan Toews started a third-period comeback with his first goal in 30 months and Mark Scheifele completed it as the visiting Winnipeg Jets claimed a 2-1 victory over the struggling Calgary Flames on Tuesday.
Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck made 32 saves for the Jets, who are riding a five-game winning streak.
Rasmus Andersson scored for the Flames, who have lost six straight outings and sit last in the league.
Goalie Dustin Wolf stopped 26 shots in an excellent battle by the masked men.
Calgary headed into the third period with a lead, but Toews -- who missed the last two seasons while battling long COVID -- tied the clash with a power-play goal at 2:41 of the final frame. The veteran set up at the front of the net and deflected Neal Pionk's point shot for his first goal since April 13, 2023.
It was Winnipeg's 20th shot on goal while enjoying a man advantage.
Scheifele, the hottest of the Jets, netted his seventh goal in a five-game run to put the visitors ahead at 15:06 of the final frame. He drove to the net during a two-on-one rush and redirected Kyle Connor's pass for the go-ahead tally.
Calgary, which has been outscored 13-2 in the third period this season, frantically tried to find the equalizer, but could not cue up the comeback, even with a power play in the final 25 seconds.
Amidst the late chances, rookie Samuel Honzek ripped a shot off the post, just missing out on his first NHL tally.
It has been a tough season for Calgary, but the Flames had a chance to snap their skid when Andersson cracked the scoreless deadlock with his second goal of the season at 13:22 of the middle frame.
The fourth line did a masterful job on the forecheck, with Adam Klapka gaining the puck down low and sending it to the point while holding off the check. Andersson fired a long shot that found the mark with Ryan Lomberg setting the screen.
The Flames are winless (0-4-0) when scoring first this season.
