Indiana Pacers forward Aaron Nesmith signed a multi-year contract extension on Tuesday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team, however multiple media outlets reported late Monday night that it was a two-year extension worth $40.4 million.
'Aaron Nesmith embodies our team's selfless, fast-paced style of play while also playing a key role in defining our culture, all of which is a testament to his talent, dedication, and commitment to this organization and our fans,' said Kevin Pritchard, Pacers president of basketball operations.
'We look forward to Aaron's continued growth and contributions to both our team and our community, and we're proud to have reached an agreement that will keep him here in Indiana.'
A 2020 lottery pick by the Boston Celtics, Nesmith became a key contributor after he was traded to the Pacers in July 2022.
Though injuries limited Nesmith to 45 games (37 starts) in 2024-25, he averaged 12.0 points and a career-high 4.0 rebounds per game. He shot 50.7% from the field, 43.1% from 3-point range and 91.3% from the foul line -- which would have qualified him for the 50-40-90 club if he had played enough games.
Only nine qualifying NBA players have produced at least one 50-40-90 season.
During Indiana's postseason run, Nesmith put up 12.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while shooting 49.2% from deep. He started all 23 playoff games as the Pacers reached the NBA Finals, which they lost in seven games to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
In 288 career regular-season games (148 starts) between Boston and Indiana, Nesmith has averaged 8.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
