J.T. Miller scored at 2:48 of overtime, lifting the visiting New York Rangers to a 4-3 win against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night.
Miller brought the puck through all three zones before scoring from in close to complete the Rangers' comeback after they trailed 3-1 at the start of the third period.
Braden Schneider had a goal and an assist, Jonny Brodzinski and Taylor Raddysh also scored and Igor Shesterkin made 33 saves for the Rangers, who have won two in a row.
Darnell Nurse scored two goals, Matt Savoie netted his first NHL goal in his 17th game, Jake Walman had two assists and Stuart Skinner stopped 30 shots for the Oilers, who have lost three of four (1-1-2).
New York cut its deficit to 3-2 at 8:18 of the third when Schneider scored on a rebound, his first goal of the season.
Raddysh added his team-leading fifth of the season with a wrist shot from the slot to tie it 3-3 at 12:04.
The Rangers took a 1-0 lead at 5:44 of the first period. Brodzinski tipped away a cross-ice pass from Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard at the top of the New York zone, leading to a breakaway.
Brodzinski skated in on Skinner before lifting a backhand over his outstretched right pad for his first goal of the season.
The Oilers tied it 1-1 at 6:51 of the first.
Jack Roslovic passed the puck out of the corner of the New York zone to Walman at the high slot. Walman fed Nurse in the right circle, and Nurse scored with a one-timer.
Edmonton was on its first power play when Adam Henrique took a shot that was saved by Shesterkin, but the rebound came back to Henrique. His follow up went off the skate of Savoie and into the net for a 2-1 lead at 8:48 of the second.
Savoie was the ninth overall pick by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2022 draft before he was traded to Edmonton in July 2024 for Ryan McLeod and Tyler Tullio.
Nurse scored 1:36 later to make it 3-1.
Nurse brought the puck across the New York blue line with speed, passed off the Isaac Howard on his left, and he passed the puck back to Nurse to the left of the net.
Nurse took the sharp angle shot, and the puck crossed the goal line when it got caught in Shesterkin's pad.
Howard was credited with his first career NHL assist.
